"How does one describe Burdock MelCauley? Taller than ten men, he seems, after fighting off a dozen ruffians. They say he can lift an entire oak chest filled with gold over his head. I've never seen it myself, but I cannot deny the rumor. He is a man's man and a ladies' man, as likely to drink you under the table as he is to offer the finest of sparkling wines to his lady love. With his stout rapier in hand and a short "What ho?" at his lips, he leaps into every fray, defending every right and righting every wrong. He is what you hope to be, and can never achieve. He is Burdock MelCauley, and you are not."|
- Aster Arctium, scholar and chronicler of the swashbuckler, Burdock MelCauley
Aster looked at the small child that had a plastered grin on his face. “You want to know where Burdock MelCauley comes from? His life as a child? Are you sure you don’t want to hear the tale of Burdock and the Red Giant? Or how about when Burdock single-handedly slew the Wretch of Cardile? No?
“Very well. They say that Burdock wasn’t born of any human family, but was found in Liir by a family of humans after having been washed up from the sea. Some say that he was born from the mouth of a great sea god. Others say that he is a lost prince of the fallen empire washed ashore after a shipwreck. Either way, he was raised by the Lirrish MelCauley’s and given a good life. But ever was his view on the horizon.
“Burdock ran away from the druidic practices of his family before he had even reached his tenth year, joining up with the pirate ship Lunar Luck.”
A crash was heard suddenly coming from a nearby tavern, followed by the unmistakable sound of blades being drawn. Aster quickly got up and started making his way there, stopping just for a moment to finish talking to the child.
“And you can find all the information about those adventures in my book, Burdock MelCauley and the Pirate King. Now, trouble’s afoot and I must go. Go find Burdock MelCauley, that is.”
"Stand back, fair citizen. This is a job for Burdock MelCauley!"

Just be sure not to accidentally say "what *up* ho?" That's a whole different thing.
